Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Murder of XXXTentacion
Showing up in a Fort Lauderdale, Fla. court on Monday (June 25), the 22-year-old Florida local ‘Dedrick Devonshay Williams’ that was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of XXXTentacion claimed innocence, ABC Local 10 reports.
“I plead him not guilty and my client maintains his innocence,” said private attorney Mauricio Padilla, who was handpicked by Williams’ family to represent him. “It’s difficult when you’re dealing with media cases because as you know they take a life of their own nowadays with social media. But we’re really focused on trying this case in a court of law and not in the court of public opinion.”
Experts trust Williams played a part in the June 18 killing of XXXTentacion and claim the suspect drove the SUV that was utilized to obstruct the rapper from heading out in his vehicle. As per the report, Williams and another suspect were both equipped when they went up against the “Moonlight” rapper.
A week ago, the arrest warrant for Williams uncovered new insights about the case, including the conviction that two men, alongside Williams, were inside the SUV and looted the rapper at gunpoint, yet no arrests has been made for the two other suspects.
