Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story produced by JAY-Z
It had been announced back in 2017 that rapper JAY-Z was set to produce a documentary series about the life of Trayvon Martin. The six-part series chronicles the life of the unarmed Miami Gardens teenager Trayvon Martin who was killed on Feb. 26, 2012 during an incident with neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida, outside Orlando, where Martin was visiting his father.
Now, the first full trailer for the docu-series has been revealed and will be premiere on July 30, 2018 on Paramount Network. The series, which will consist of six episodes, is executive produced by Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, Jay-Z, Chachi Senior, Michael Gasparro, Jenner Furst, Julia Willoughby Nason, and Nick Sandow.
JAY-Z-produced documentary series “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story” also covers the protests sparked by Zimmerman’s acquittal, and the development of the Black Lives Matter movement
